Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world, southeast of Africa’s coast. The island developed in isolation and with its subtropical climate led to unique native wildlife. Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot due to the fact that 90% of their wildlife is found nowhere else but on the island. Summer season begins in November until March with hot and rainy conditions. Winter season is cooler and drier which is between May and October.
Madagascar’s currency is the Malagasy Ariary (MGA). Travelling to Madagascar is via flights and then to transport yourself around the island is via hire cars.
